Sihanoukville

Firstly, the journey to Cambodia was rather interesting and random. We took a boat and then a taxi to the bus. Let me correct that, it was a freaking minibus. Lady said it took 20-30 minutes to get to Ha Tien border. Yeah right, 20-30 minutes my ass. We were on it for hours! Just as we thought we would get a big bus after that, we got on another minibus!

Got to Cambodia and we had to take a car up to Sihanoukville. So like I said, random and interesting. Weather was shit when we got there though.

Sihanoukville was fun. Basically party party all night long and laze by the beach the next day. It was raining when we were there. The first night with Kelly was hilarious. “Lets go for one beer”. We got back at 5am. Danced all night long, jumped into the pool and the guard told us to get out. Flashing at the sign that said no swimming from a certain time.

Second night I kinda lost everyone. Met Amsterdam. I don’t think I’ve ever talked to someone I met on a first night for hours before. Had good fun. Went to bed at 7am. Amsterdam told me to find him at Otres Beach. Was there for two days but I didn’t bump into him. Disappointing but oh well. What do you expect from travellers. haha

So yeah. I didnt take much pictures in Sihanoukville. But I met amazing people, had great fun and it was time to go as SGD to USD is not doing me any good. Update on my second bus ride from hell later. :D

Phu Quoc

It’s been a good three days (I think) so far. Lost track of days and dates. Its been a good break from the cities although its been pissing down rain everyday. I think I’ve had about enough quiet and I need to get back to the cities and the hectic life before I start getting bored again.

So the guys rented motorbikes here on Phu Quoc and we went South two days ago. Roads there were terrible! I shouldn’t even call them roads as they were mostly mud and dirt. Woke up yesterday and my back was a little sore and we travelled down North. After that, my sore back was just pure agony.

The roads on the North was better and we rode down the coastline back. The ride up North was hilarious and frustrating at the same time. Went to restaurant that had nobody and the ass there was trying to rip us off. 150,000VND for seafood. When we didn’t want any, he brought it down to 100,000VND. Sorry dude, there’s no way we are paying that much. Went to another restaurant and it was about the same price, but she had a menu this time.

Decided to just head down to another beach, found a lovely little resort and the service there was just brilliant. Lady gave us towels to dry ourselves up and then she brought a pot of burning charcoal to keep ourselves warm. The food portion was generous though all I had was fried veggies. My appetite is a little weird right now.

So the ride down the coastline was amazing. Took a few photos. I have more on my camera which I’ll upload another day. Here’s the sunset by the coast.

We made good use of the bikes during the two days. Got it all nice and clean, returned it covered in mud. Haha. The guys face when we returned it was priceless. Tim had good fun with the bike. Made ‘doughnuts’ on the mud.

There’s more photos but they are all on Kelly’s camera. I can never remember to take photos. Camera is always in my bag but I never take it out. How smart.

Today is just a lazy day, I can’t decide if I wanna go back to Vietnam and make my way up to Hanoi or if I want to go to Cambodia. Cambodia sounds fun, but travelling back to Hanoi would be a bitch and I’ll be rushing. All I know is I must end at Hanoi as my flight back would then be really really cheap.

Decisions decisions. Hate making them.

Vietnam

Well, I booked a one way ticket to Vietnam last month. I didn’t have the intention to go alone, but since everyone is busy with their own thing, told myself why not.

Arrived in Hanoi feeling sick (thats for being out all night before a morning flight). The first night was kickass. There was an awesome band playing at a bar, me and Irwan had a good time. The days following that was a blur. Met a few amazing people though.

My last day in Hanoi, I felt like shit. I just didn’t know what to do. Go cambodia or go around Vietnam. Decided to fly to Ho Chi Minh City and decide from there.

Ho Chi Minh, now thats a shit place to start with. I hated it. Apart from the beers and the good company, the place sucked. It got to me immediately. Was just waiting to leave. Now here I am, on the floor of a building, waiting for a ferry to Phu Quoc.

So much shit to do

before leaving for Vietnam. Supposed to get all these shit done, but I spent the whole of this week rectifying my stupid hacking problem. Still paranoid.

Something is off with my body cause I keep feeling tired. Stupid tape on my leg is finally off today. Can’t believe my sister is not coming with me to Hanoi and that I’m actually travelling alone. First time for everything I guess.

Woohoo!

Literally counting down the days to Vietnam. 6 More days. Unlike Thailand, where I drove myself crazy trying to plan everything ahead, this time, I’m winging it.

Hanoi is so close to Laos. Torn between going to Halong Bay, Da Lat then HCMC.

OR

Going down to Laos, Cambodia then back to HCMC

Hmm. We shall see.

Finally

Got around to using the scanner. Look what I found.

The Workforce

Some mornings, I play Street Spirit by Radiohead and just watch all the sad faces going to work in the train.

Some would run to catch the next train, some would have the most crankiest faces and some asses like me, take our sweet time to walk and people watch.

Love/Hate Kinda Thing

Had a perfect Saturday. Starbucks with the girls, Timbre for good music, Liverpool match at Dubliners, Avalon for Nate’s birthday and then good food at Spize (though my fucking prata wasnt served).

So today, I’m staying in watching Star Wars. Found my favourite sweater:D
